The number itself sounds nice indeed. :)

However, we are having immense problems with spammers lately, with new ones arriving almost each day. Whereas some of them are easy to detect, with others I am not so sure. So the number of accounts itself doesn’t say that much. More than half of these 1000+ accounts have never written even one post and one forth of them has never even been logged in at least once. So personally I will continue to count on quality only, not quantity. 8)

Och, Romy, that was so... unromantic :green:

Well, I know the problem. That's why most other forums delete accounts that are not used for some months. Is that an option? Do those fake accounts do anything else than distort our member count? Do they actually spam?

Sorry for being unromantic about it, but this issue gets on my nerves so much, and I would really like to do something about it. But unfortunately I cannot delete accounts by myself. I will continue suggesting it, though.

Some of them actually spam (advertisements and pornographic content), some add signature lines with advertisements, and perhaps some just do nothing.

I am sure there will be a solution sooner or later.

Now I can delete them, so our count is back to 700+. 8)

I have deleted all accounts that either have registered more than one year ago and never been logged in, or those that have never posted and their last login was more than two years ago. I will continuously delete accounts according to this system from now on... just wanted to tell you, so that you don't have to be surprised when our member count will be decreasing now and then.

No, seriously, I just want to say that this place is very dear to me, no matter how many members there are in total. Thank you all for making this place as it is!

Yes, thank you all so very much!

Oh, and after some searching in the internet and some unsuccessful attempts, I finally managed to repair the "View active topics" button. I had never used it before and did not even know it existed, but several people had said they missed it. So now we have it back. :)
