Does anyone know anything about the Equilac products? - produced in Ouerdaarde (?), Belgium, they comprise a range of capsules and creams to cure (?) skin problems, and are made with mares' milk.

They were in my shop, wanted me to take their products in our stock.
But I wasn't really interested.
What would you like to know?

I don't know, just breeding horses for milk... well you know what I mean.
Not my cup of tea, or milk.

Well, I've been doing a bit of investigation of these products, and it occurred to me that perhaps someone has found a way to get a bit more out of e.g. Premarin mares - the urine for hormones, whilst they're pregnant, the unwanted foals for meat, and then the milk for these dubious pharmaceuticals, but I don't know if Premarin is produced from Belgian mares - I think most of it comes from Canada. The science of the Equilac treatments is very dodgy. I'm not at all surprised you didn't want to carry them!
Would it be economic to keep mares just for this? or do they have an arrangement with breeders, or owners?.......
The same group has companies which sell face creams with snail mucus and such stuff, but it's not so expensive to keep snails!

The mares (and foals) are from a Belgian farm where they walk outside all day. One can visit the farm.
The foals are belgian warmblood and sold for recreational 'use'.

They do not take the urine, if they did, it was not possible for the mares to walk outside.

The company assured me, as the product was all natural, it was against animal testing.

I wonder what volume of trade we're talking here and what the foals drink, come to that..........Thanks for the info - if I have other questions, I'll take them up with the manufacturers themselves.
