Ah to be young and fit !

I used to be able to do that, but my horse was only 14.5 hands!

I remember trying to figure out how to get on my very first pony all by myself...I would ask him to stand still (actually, he would be grazing....), then back up very far away....

....run at him....


....then JUMP!

I would either just run into him (he was a very patient pony), or go right over him. It was a long time before I could just swing a leg over! Now I am too old, and have too many aches and pains to even try it.

I use a mounting block (a step stool).
