From front to back this is Singi, Tasha, Marlyn and Bokka.
Image

They are Central Asian Shepherd Dogs (sub-specie Alabai)
Singi (white) is 2 years 8 months old, and the other 3 are 18 months old.
They will guard me and my home, and their children will guard my sheep and horses next year.

They are BIG BIG BIG dogs - as adults they can go to 80 kg :ieks: and they are tough enough to take down a timber-wolf that wants to eat "their" herd.

I'm so glad you shared these photos with us. Yesterday, after my lesson, I got home and sat on Magik's back for the first time since last summer. Even though there was about a foot of snow, I got scared and got off. I had completely forgotten to bring my treats!!!! When I saw your photos, I noticed, how calm Alaska was and how you are enjoying yourself.
Thanks for sharing, this has given me courage to go back (with treats) and I'll try again
(not today, it's -30 deg celcius).

Yikes! minus 22 degrees Fahrenheit? I cannot imagine life in such temperatures. I get cranky and immobilized when it drops below freezing.

Well, time to feed the girls, and it's snowing. And I'm cranky. I'll just remember you out in -22F and remind myself of how lucky I am.
