Finally I have some more pictures of Tammi and Ippa and their place.

First how the stable looked just few weeks ago. It had been a cow stable (for 8 cows) until 30 years ago.

Today we opened it for the horses and they had a look around. It is not perfect, but quite ok for 2 finhorses.

This is the entrance from the outside.

And some pictures more.

How big are they? The looked beautiful. How old are they?? Tell me more, tell me more

Thank you Kirsti
I do not know about your trotters  , but the Fins do have a passion for trotting races and the Finhorses are since old times used for that.
Ippa (with the white stripe on the front) is 140 cm, 4 years old and was trained for the trotting race. But he is bit small and was too slow - his luck 8)
Tammi is 150 cm and 5 years old.

I had looked for smaller sized horses, as also Finhorses are nowadays bred to be bigger according to the fashion of riding horses :?
There are I think 4 types: small, work, trotting and riding.
I thought the local breed would be well suited for the climate around here - cold and wet  And they are lovely horses also :D

The days are short and often dark now and not easy to take good pictures with my mobile phone - for Christmas we get a real digi-camera :applause:

Here now some pictures from November/December:

Now that Tammi gets good food and minerals her tail sprouts nicely

Feeding area in the stable, they can come and go as they please.

One week ago we had fresh snow

And today the sun came out a bit

That is one of their favorite places to stand and doze, as it is a bit higher ground there.

Inside the stable it is about 4 C. They do lay down on the straw beds now and then and of course go there for eating the hay and drinking. But mostly they chose to stay outside to play, walk around and watch what is going on or just to doze.
