Hi! My name is Dineke and I'm a long time horse-lover from the Netherlands. Seven years ago I fulfilled a dream and bought a then 7 years old Haflinger called Moonlight. We love trail riding but also do some dressage to ensure Moon stays fit and healthy to carry me. I believe in improving first and foremost the rider, that's why I regularly take lessons from a Centered Riding instructor.
I take a keen interest in natural horsemanship, especially but not exclusively Parelli and I'm a moderator on the Dutch NH forum. Currently I'm looking for ways to communicate with Moon about lifting the front and bending the haunches in a playful friendly way. For lifting the front I now use Spanish walk and he is making nice progress there, lifting his shoulders and raising his poll, looking very proud of himself. Looking for away to work on flexing the haunches I bumped into the school halt and googling on that into this very interesting forum!
So hope to find inspiration here on horse friendly ways of keeping him fit and healthy!

Welcome, Dineke! :)

Great that you are here. I think I might have seen you on the Dutch NH forum - some years ago I was reading there sometimes in order to learn Dutch.

I hope you will enjoy the forum and I am looking forward to reading more about you and lovely Moon.

Best wishes,
Romy

Welcome Dineke! :f:

The things you mentioned you're currently interested in, are exactly what I do most right now. So I will be looking forward to your approach to all this. :)

I recommend you have a look into our Exercise diaries section. There you find different exercises (like school halt for example) and the different ways our members are tackling those exercises.

Other than that, the most interesting stuff happens in our member's diaries of course. They are much more lengthy to read, but nevertheless very rewarding if you do. The true gems are hidden in there.
