| Post subject: | HELP! My dog is suddenly afraid! |
My 4 year old German Shepherd/ Lab dog is suddenly afraid of things. He is normally a super brave dog; rarely spooked by anything. Then, yesterday evening, he stayed in his crate and when he came out, he was shaking, walking with his head low, and afraid of things. His appitite is good and he is drinking. There has been no trumatic event that I know of. Any ideas? Thanks, Ivy |

Ivy, has he been constantly nervous since? Or just sometimes? How long was he in the crate for? Are you aware of everything that might have happened to him during his time in there? If you're sure there's been no external event, then if it was me, I think I'd be talking to my vet.There might be some health issue affecting his nervous system. |

He was in the crate for several hours. As far as I know, he was just lying there. It wasn't closed. As far as I know, nothing happened. I would have called the vet, but it is now a holiday. I plan on talking to our vet on Friday. Thanks! Ivy |

Ivy, I was thinking the same, talk to your vet, I'm wondering if he may have had a seizure. With some dogs this may happen once and then never again in their life. They can be disoriented afterwards. Keep us posted how he's doing. |
