We had a report in the newspaper about a Swiss barn offering cow rides. When I saw the pictures I was wondering how much cows are really apt to carry a rider? Wouldn't they need a similar training as a horse? Or even more so?

Thanks all of you.

I think that is a bit the same like by horses, and even that they offer cow ride or horse or donkey, mostly (not always) is there no training. And sure (I think) they need a training for doing something not naturale.

Hi Morgan thanks for the link, I can take the good information the rest I don't even look at it... ;)

I had yesterday a training with Mimi but cant get the movie from the camera on my laptop.

For now then a few pictures...

Normaly do I take the rope to get her used to it. To the contact at her body and around her neck.
The problem is that I had to fors her a bit (mom  ) so i'm thinking to take a rope of an other collor.

But today I want to take my douther Roos.
She realy like to make contact with Mimi, but Mimi don't know yet what to do with her
When we came by them, Roos was sleeping...

But the camera was even a strange thing…

Long time ago...
And not so good news...
Mimi had to give birth around the same period as me (20 februari 2013).
But around newyear did I got problems who only did get more worse.
6 Januari, my mum did call to tell that Mimi her baby was dead.
And she was delivering the baby.
The birth went good (the animal docter was scared that he had to do a ceaserean section).
But she is still confused and looking for her calf.

So sorry about the calf, and poor Mimi. :pet:

But what great news that you are expecting a baby as well! And so wonderful for Roos that she will get a brother or sister. :)

Hi Romy a bit late, but still thank you.
They have to milk Mimi two times a day.
One time I came there when they were milking her.
Ooh she was so stressed...
When I did talk about it to my mum, she start defending her, not that I did a tack her...
So I did close my own more off for the signals of the animals, it makes me feeling so bad, sure about now I'm not in the possibility to help them...
I hope it will change fast so I can work with and help them again...
It will even fill my live a bit more...

Yesterday Mamamoe thit pas away.
She was not more so good and they had to separate her from Mimi, when Mimi was in the period to get pregnant others she jumped on Moe and Moe fall down.
So they know the time was there and locked Moe for the night in the stable, but she got outside at the court and maybe there was ice.
In the morning they did find her there on the ground and she couldn't get up anymore...
First I thought she had a broken leg or so...
But the vet came monday morning and told that she was just over, out of energie...
I'm happy that she didn't broke something...
She was 18 years and my parents where the 7the owner.

The vet said that she could get up again with energie boost injection, but for how long ...
She didn't had anymore the power...
Her time was there to go but the lost for my mum and me too is hard...
In september Ronjaar now Moe...

Mimi is now alone, they are scared to let her by Joost and Leen (they are not more so young too, 17 and 16) and making a place beside them means building an other shelter...
