What has come to me as the big difference between NH and AND as in terms of performance and which you can see first glance is the way the horse moves and carries his head and neck.
Without criticising, just an observation:
With NH they all horses seem to have their heads and necks high, mostly a hollow back (from rope swinging I presume), leaning on one shoulder (from roundpenning I suspect, I'd never do that but it is important for the horse's use of body to always work in a rectangular paddock)...well, bad posture in fact. This is really balanced out throughout the training or show. No surprises so to speak, just the same posture and mind set in a constant fashion. (which would be seen as a good thing by many, which I of course understand).
Within AND, horses walk more in horizontal balance, They show more diversity in mind and body posture with now and then paces of real natural collection coming from playful and proud behaviour.
I wish to write about it but haven't the time. I am planning a video about it.. likewise
It has come to me because I am training so much former NH horses who seem to have no clue about their body and how to use it at all. Often worse then regular dressage as I've come to notice.
So, having said this, who I am I to criticise the body posture of these horses... I can not even train my two kinsky gents together let alone train 5 ha ha ! So whatever way she did it, well done!
