Wonderful!

Lots of great stuff -- and I think your method of getting him to make a larger circle around you is inspired!

Brilliant -- I will be stealing that.

(And as I posted on youtube, the "are you silly?" question/response is most excellent!

:D

:funny: :funny: :funny: I think it's big fun, and Freckles likes getting a treat for something so easy. ;) It works for both of us.

Hasn't Freckles just got so good with this "lunging monster" he used to have? I is proud Mom. The way he deliberately sometimes goes far out so he can pop over the little jump is super-cool, too. He tells me when to change direction, too. :funny:

Brilliant...both of you. It would not mean much to someone who doesn't know how hard it was for Freckles to do that before. You've done a great job (consistantly actually doing it....which is where I fail miserably  ) getting those muscles evened out so he can do it and of course holding his hand through the emotions of it all....... :applause:

Fab to see you in vid again. Feels like I've just popped in for tea!!! :funny: I'm still amazed at how much his physique has changed. :D

This is the first video that I edited. There is more to this day but it was so long I had to cut some stuff out. I'll edit more when I get the chance.

But for now, here's some lunging. Enjoy! :D

Nice work! I also thought your editing looked like you've done it many times before, well done! :)
I've just (finally) bought a video camera myself, so I'll be editing in a while as well, but I'm afraid I totally forgot how to do that...

What I thought was interesting when watching the video, was that not only the blind side looks harder for your horse, but for you as well!
On the good side, you walk a nice forwards circle towards your horse, but on the blind side you walk your circle backwards and almost in front of the horse. It's quite possible that this is the reason why she tries to walk towards you instead of walking a circle around you; by backing up yourself, you're 'drawing'your horse towards you. It might be easier for Schatzi to understand you what you want if you walk towards the horse, 'pushing' her away.
Maybe you've figured that out already, but it's just what I see in your video (and recognise in my own lunging 8) ).

I've tried the walking towards her on her blind side and she just spins towards me even more. If I don't have any pressure on the line to guide her she either doesn't move or just keeps turning in to find me because she's confused.

I'm hoping after lunging for a while she'll get it. I'm thinking of setting up visual barriers for her and myself to keep us on a circle/square(like a picadero) and maybe that will help.

We'll see.

No I just have to edit the other parts of the video :)

Thanks! Isn't he just gorgeous now? I'm hoping to compare this video to new ones every month or so. I'm interested to see if and how his movement changes as he gets fit. ;)

He is carrying himself very nicely. Your rider is handling the reins very sympathetically as well. It's a lovely picture.

He's the smallest Lippizaner I ever saw ... but he does carry himself very nicely. I'm impressed.

I finally got a chance to watch this - Wow! :D Such an adorable pony... and he really does look like a little Lipizzaner ;) Very impressive. And the groom is so gentle and a "quiet" rider. Really awesome to watch them together...
