Every now and then I used to come across this forum and I always enjoy reading here, so I thought it might be nice if I could also write something from time to time…

Hm, what can I write about my furry friends and me? I live in East Frisia – sometimes I think it could also be called “The Shire” :funny: – and love to spend time with my two ladies– an elderly Quarter Horse and a lovely little Shetty.

They both live in a herd with 7 other horses and it is so interesting to watch them interact and to see that although they are all very different from each other (we have 2 draft horses, 3 Shettys, one thoroughbreed, 2 warmbloods and one big Pony), they get along very well…

With my older mare I try to go for a walk as often as I can and with the little lady I try to to train some tricks and, if we both like it, go for one-horse carriage rides one day. Unfortunately we do not have beautiful terrains or even woods around and also no transport vehicle to reach one so we have to walk along the street - but at least they never have to stand in a box and have food whenever they want some! Oh, and we love clickertraining very much but we are not very good at it because I am not very disciplined... I just love to give them treats even if they didn't do anything :funny:

Ok, if you have questions - you are very welcome to ask, and if not, I will just read on, get inspired by you and your horses and maybe write something someday :D

Welcome! :)

I already admired your beautiful Shetland pony in another forum, and it's great that now you are on here as well. I am looking forward to reading from you! :f:

Best wishes,
Romy

Thanks Romy

Yes, she looks incredibly sweet - but there is a little imp behind that lovely face - I like that :)

I can totally relate to that ;). My clicker training strictness comes and goes, but mostly it's my own style of rewarding, only in some aspects related to clicker training.

Thanks Volker!

Surprisingly both girls didn't bekome snappy :hap: or pushy because of that - they know how to get a treat the polite way - they just have to look cute :funny:

I love this word, it is so multifunktional :funny: It can be used as "good morning", "good afternoon", "good evening", "hello", "goodbye", "how are you?", and so on...

A girl from our stable invented a funny test, and now we are all doing it like her. When we're outside (riding or for a walk) and meet other people - there are many joggers or people with dogs around here - we say either "Moin" or "Hello" and see what they will reply to us. In fact, most people that we greet with "Moin" reply by saying "Moin", too, and those ones who are greeted with "Hello" reply with "Hello" :funny: (Sometimes I wonder what might happen if I greet the next person with "Gruezi" or something like that :funny: )
