Just a small set of unrelated pictures that I call: 'Self-portrait with a pony' :funny:
Yesterday I had such a nice cuddling session with the lovely 20 years old mare Nicki on the pasture and it made me remember those pictures I took during our holidays. She's such a character, really fun to play with and the best grooming partner ever!

For me it's a challenge getting photos from my horse right, even less such lovely portraits like yours. The object of desire is always otherwise engaged... :funny: I really LOVE such cuddly moments too!

The third pic...

It definitely helps if the object of desire is a little pony and not big like Pan ;)

Riding pictures! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Have I posted riding pictures yet? I really don't know... Anyway, yesterday we had the most wonderful winter sun weather and so we decided - together with a friend of us - to try a new path through the woods. It was a very nice and diverse track - with a lot of opportunity to ride! Anna was walking, so she could snatch a few photos with her phone. Not the best quality, but a nice document of proud me, riding proud Mucki 8).
When I think about it, how we ride along bitless, with just the bareback pad, it makes me feel strange. For so long it felt like such a distant dream to be able to do that with my own horse... and now here we go .

Just a few pictures of Mucki and Lily exploring their new home. The herd was out on the pasture, except the two old ladys who had to finish their daily mash.
Lily dug deep into the hay, which doesn't have a haynet yet ;) Mucki spotted two of the young, black sheep, running free in the stables. He stared and stared and stared... :funny:

And Lily disappearing in the haybale is so funny...
From what I saw, also in your diary, the stable looks great.

its great seeing more pictures from your new horsei-home.
it's kind of an open stalls where they can go in and out?

...and YES, i too think Mucki, your moon horse is looking beautiful when he takes in new experience
and Lili's pink nose is looking like it is made for kissing, (when it is not hidden by hey).
hugs

Thank you all! They have been separated from the herd for two weeks now and since a few days I can see an important change in them. They are much calmer - I can even take Lily away from Mucki for grooming without him calling after her and getting upset. And they actively want to be part of the herd. In the beginning - especially Mucki - tried to put distance between the groups and avoided too much contact.
I really like this slow approach to integration and I think that now they are as ready for it as they can get. There is always that last insecurity, because no one knows exactly how Mucki and Wiking (the herd leader) will react once the horses mingle.
Well, tomorrow we will have a first glance, as we will probably put them together for some hours in the afternoon. That's surely going to be interesting. I just hope no one gets injured... :f:
