Lovely pictures. Beau has a beautiful head, love his white star and the canter photo is great. xx

nope Josepha, I'm sorry, my friend took the pics and her camera is really old... I wish I had it in a better format too...

This morning I told Adriaan I wanted to try and ride Beau bridleless and he said ho could take pictures, my parents had forgotten their camera at the christmasparty and so Adriaan had it with him. The ride was wonderful (will write about it in my journal) and here are the pics:

Great pictures, Barbara! :)

I especially liked to see the not so perfect ones where he is pulling up his neck (probably during the transistions?) - not because that's how you would imagine the end result of a lifetime of training to look like, but because to me they are a fantastic reminder of how great bridleless riding and groundwork at liberty actually is.

So nice that the horse gets the chance to really balance himself with his head in the way he needs to do it at a certain stage of training. So great that he can develop a more round, collected movement (and keep it during the harder moves like canter transistions) when he is ready for it, instead of being put into a frame by the rider. And so great of you to have the patience to work with him on his moves at his own speed.

You are doing wonderful work! :)

hey Romy,
he indeed pulls up in his transitions, he doesn't really jump them trhough yet, but it has to do with me not totally being loose which makes it more diffficult for him to balance...

I am so happy that I finally got the courage to ride him at a canter, I just really wanted to GO :)
We had loads of fun, he was really engaged, wanting to show off for me and I loved it that he did so many things just for me, cause I know he did them to please me :) and the cool thing is that he is soooo controlable...

Romy I'm mega proud... and very interested in knowing how it will evolve...

What a nice serious of photos. I also like the way that your horse becomes more uphill during the transitions and how he can use his neck the way he needs to. :applause: :applause:

We went out for a ride and met some very nice pigs :)
Beau tried to snort like a pig really trying to talk to them it was SOOOOO funny!

Pascha was a little less enthusiastic, every time Beau snorted Pascha jumped up :)

Finally a link to our pictures, being photographed always makes me a bit more tense and it is visible in our interaction, more tension than I would like, but it is work in progress and I needed to see how we are doing. So I am very proud of what we have achieved so far and am looking forward to the rest of our path.

I even see the difference between these pictures and where we are now, progress is being made!

Big hug
Barbara
