Is there anything wrong with the Dr. Cook's model?

Not at all :D

Some of us simply prefer not to have the cross under element to the bridle. But there's nothing at all wrong with the cross under style.

same as Leigh not at all!! but you aks info about a caveson, the bitless bridle is not a caveson.
Thats why i gave this info and pics. ;)
i ride and drive with a Bitless Bridle from Cook. Groundwork such as longing, long lines, straightenen and so on i prefer a vienna caveson.

Inge, can you give me a link to an online shop for that model? It´s so hard to find the perfect one and this one seems to have the right placement of rings for me ;).

Concerning the Dr. Cook model to my experience it has more value for driving or competation dressage or show jumping.

For Riding art, it has proven to 'blunt' (Bob... I do adore your work and your bridle...! You are a huge part of the worldwide bitless revolution!!! Thank you!!! Just for my line of work, the bitless bridle of Monsieur De Pluvinel works better  )

I bought a crossover bridle as I wanted to try it out. I should of saved my pennies really. Cappy got really irritated in it, tossing his head up and down even with light use. I have only use it once but it seemed to have confused him alot. I didn't dare even try it on Blacky as she hates pressure and things on her head.

I think I had this misconception that it would be lighter on pressure as it covered more points, where a lot of other bitless bridles concentrate on the nose area. Which I think is a sensitive area. My nose is anyway!

I normally ride in the halter part of my endurance bridle. They seem to like it, but like a halter it does tend to be too loose round the nose area. But I think I will stick with it.

each horse is an individual and prefer their own bridle, one loves a crossunder and other horse prefer a sidepull.
You have to try it out which will work the best for you and you and your horse. It can be so that you use one bridle for the first horse and an other one for the second horse.
And also how you use it ;) in our country we have an assosiation which lend out al kind of bitless bridles. So you can try ut several kind of bridles before you buy it somewere els. They dont sell only lend out.
Lots of people are very happy with this assosiation so they figure out which will work for them and then spent their money.
Some had a prefer for a special bridle but the horse did not like it and the one they thought it was nothing for them the horse say yes. They were be dumbfounded. But bought the right bridle after the test periode.

It is such a great organisation! The one Inge talks about. I have done the same service in Belgium for a long time, but had to stop being pressed for time. I still borrow out saddles though.
