In November 2008, the Royal Dutch Equestrian Federation took the lead in approving the crossunder bitless bridle for dressage, the dressage phase of eventing, and for driving competitions within the show ground.

Can any of you give me any more datail or link? I'm obviuosly happy, but I need a confirmation to be more and more happy! :)

indeed.... We all got the news.

But I still do not know how this translates to the higher classes up to grand prix level...
I can't see if even just a lone snaffle is not allowed, non bit at all is?

there are still no detail yet...our coverment is still working on the last details of the new animal wellfare subject. The horses are a part of it.
This detail is leaked out. The KNHS, the dutch federation, have not make any decisions how the bridle have to look like and which one will be allowed.
I pressume that it have to be a traditional or english design.
As soon i have more information i will put this over here.

it is only permitted when the event is on prived terrain. When it is on the main road it is not allowed. So we will working hard to that part get permitted too, so then it is able to go forexample endurance driving.
Under saddle it is allowed and no problem but for driving it is still not possible. We have to proof first that bitless is save.
they keep it pretty quiet because i think they are a bit afraid for the results and so on ;)

we still continue promoting bitless....
you will hear soon...
