@ Kirsti, it is best not to direct a husband's actions to much, just like with horses, it will not aspire enthousiasm ;)

This was O's paddock at the Instructor's course.
The other horse demanded attention from me (The owner was at the other side of the paddock calling and calling... ha ha !)
But look at O's expression

waiting to take our exam...
Image

whahaha! look at our mouths, absolutely the same expression!

So what do you do when you have to wait? You cuddle :).... a lot!
Image

allmost our turn, going to get the saddle...

Where is she going? Owen askes Ralph

A picture of the exam last year... our poor camera could not cope with dark and movement...

And at home, a training after the exam, I love Owen's glow in the sunset!

And why not Gina... she to me is just as beautiful!

Have a nice weekend all!
And better weather then here in Belgium... which we should perhaps rechristen Rainland...

@ Barbara, yes, Beau has something of O! :)

@ Glen, thank you, that is just the best compliment!
You know, it was not always so. in 2003 when we bought him, he was like a robot at first and a bit scared of Ralph. But Ralph did not ask anything of him. But men who aproached him with dominance made him freak out and really dangerous.
After a hile he got more and more agressive.
I had huge fights with him to, riding and training regular (I hate myself for it).
As soon as I understood that this was a higly intelligent alpha horse who needs te be seen for who he is and needs to be in charge of his own life....

All just fell into place and we are the best friends one can imagine...
He makes me a better person, I thank him every day :)

Is Gina a German Shepherd? Where did you get her? She's lovely.

whahahaha!! yes! indeed, it is such a funny picture!

Thank you... I'll tell her.
Gina is part Belgian part german. How is that for a mix ha ha !

We found her on the street when she was 4 or 5 weeks old, skinny and hurt and very frightened.
She could not sleep longer then an hour without terrible nightmares and soiling herself, waking op screaming and trembling untill she was 7 months old.
After that things went better.
She is now 8 years old and I could not think of a better strong and intelligent woman the have with me in the house and care for everyone including me sometimes...

The rest are all boys accept for two cats, but those ladies are just not so caring as she is.
6 boys and 4 women ha ha !

Oh, I'm so glad she found you guys. How wonderful for both of you. The Belgian breeds are lovely, and so are the German Shepherds -- what a nice cross. (Yes, cats sometimes don't have quite the mothering-caring instinct of our dogs... :) )
