Photobucket does not enable embedding pictures in forums anymore, so I have created a flickr account. This is a first test to see whether it works. If it does, I will delete my old picture thread and post new pictures in this thread from now on. :)

Those are beautiful pictures! Are they all in your summer pasture? I especially like the second one, with Baca and the wildflowers. Thank you for sharing them! :sun:

Love the pictures!!, looks beautiful.

And that reminds me I have always used photobucket as well. It's annoying because I think our diary will be full of broken links at some point.

Baca pictures from yesterday... an update in his diary is coming soon, but things are really going well :)

Curcuma muzzle
Image

Baca hated cherries and always spat them out - until I pushed one into his muzzle while he was closing it and so he accidentally bit into it - and suddenly realized that cherries are darn delicious. It's the same thing with Baca again and again, first saying No to everything that is new and then coming to realize that he is loving it.

Thank you, Marina and Marlene. :)

Yesterday I started putting a fence around our little forest area.

When we are in this pasture, we hardly go for walks, because the pasture itself is a huge adventure playground. We have streams to jump, raspberry bushes to eat from, fallen branches that to climb through, and endless possiblities to play hide-and-seek with the horses. As the pasture is so wide and has so many corners, it is super easy to spend one-on-one time with a horse while the others are out of sight.

On Friday I visited our new pony Jolie.

When we first arrived there, he still was very shy. For me this is a great sign, because his owner said that he hasn't had much contact with people, yet, and this is exactly what I wanted. A horse who has never experienced that people make him do things against his will.
Image

Once he realized that humans can be good scratchers, he loosened up...
Image

This picture shows how tiny he is...
Image

...and the following ones just show how cute he is
Image

Image

Image

He will stay at his current home until December, and although I would love to have him with us right now, it is okay for me as obviously he is in great company.

WOOOOOOHOOOOO
just saw the email notification and your post now.
i miss you guys soo much and thinking about you lately often.

i am so excited you are getting a new guy
"Jolie" :love:
he looks like a little prince
what an adventure.
i wonder how Pia will react... and your big boys

How old is he?
what will happen in December - is that when you move to the winter pasture next to your apartment so you get more time and a suitable space to get him used to his new family?

i love the pictures, the one before the last and the one where he enjoys scratching and all of them.
miss you so much
so glad you shared some pictures here
hugs and scratches to you all

Thank you, Marlene and Anat!

Marlene wrote:

I hope so, but we have not made any specific plans, yet.

anat wrote:

Funny that you say this, because his full name is Nizhoni's Jolie Noble. The first word refers to the breeder and the rest means "beautiful nobleman" (although jolie is the female form) - so he is a little prince indeed. :)

anat wrote:

Two years - perfect age for me, first because the chances are high that he will become very wild and second because he has not yet experienced work with humans and thus never been made to do anything against his will. :f:

Exactly, we will move to the winter pastures in December. I am sure that Titum will want to kill him again (like Pia and Baca), so I need a pasture setup with a Titum island in the middle and pony fences surrounding it, so that no matter in which direction Titum chases him, he can always escape and Titum cannot follow him.

On one hand i hope all your guys will immediately fall in love with this young nobale man :D
but on the other hand i bet this will be an exciting adventures for all

i was just thinking of this lately how, here we kind of settled into a routine for the last couple of years... not a lot of big changes, for the last 2-3 years i was soo absorbed with Pip special needs that took out a lot of energy and less time to add diversity and adventures into our life.

so hopefully giving Titum a reason to form and express his preferences about this (but at the same time keep Jolie alive ;) ) will add zetz to life and interest to everyone.

Thanks, Gwenda! :f:

I just noticed that I have not posted any photos of the foal on which you can see what he really looks like. So here are two, one from two weeks ago in the forest near our summer pastures and one from today.

Tonight I took some pictures of my night foal. Most of them look more like modern art than like a horse...

Jolie has learnt to sit up and eat treats after rolling. :)

The next day it was snowy and Jolie was full of ice... and super cute!

However, he cannot only look cute but also like a scary snow monster

Thank you, Haley! :)

Last night the foal and I went out to take some city pictures.

Usually it is so hard to get a decent picture of him, because he always comes to me. However, when he can stand on a pedestal (and stairs count as a pedestal) I can go anywhere and he would stay there forever.

Today we went for a walk with lots of water variations.

Jolie standing in the water. Later I took off my boots and went in even deeper with him, so that the water reached up to his belly. Unfortunately, we have no pictures of that.
Image

Having very thin legs afterwards. In combination with the thick fur, this makes him look like a waterbird :green:
Image

Both boys jumping over a ditch with water
Image

Image

Jolie playing in the icy water: smashing ice with Ida
Image

And Jolie being quite wet after rolling in the melting snow, which makes him look like a hedgehog

Thank you very much, Marlene! So nice to know that you are happy for and with us. :)

Here are some pictures of yesterday's walk to the Lohmener Klamm with Maymun and Pia. This is a ravine with a stream and rocks - my favorite place in our area.

Image

Image

Image

Image

Here we would have to go down a steep hill with stone stair, cross the streem via a tiny metal bridge, and then climb up many more stairs at the other side. As the foaly was scared and I knew that this path is scary even with an experienced horse, we did not do it but turned around and walked the same way back.

Hello girls! Ohhh Romy such beautiful pictures!!
How are you all?
Wanted to update the forum and didn't succeed... asked someone who is a programmer but didn't work. My goal was to have it back for your bday Romy! Luckily got it back.. but still not updated. Anyway, have been thinking a lot about AND again and would like to figure out a way to capture the most somewhere for more people to see. Maybe a Wordpress website where we make posts from the different topics?
Any ideas?

Anyway hope to talk more soon! Big kiss to you all!!!
