but what do you do with swamp land?
Do you need to fence out all the watery areas so the horses won't get stuck? Will you create some sort of track pasture?

In the beginning I thought that I had to fence out all watery and poisonous areas, which is about 3/4 of the whole are. However, now I have learned that Baca and Titum don't mind standing in the water. Therefore, next to the dry areas that they get every day anyway, I also add parts of the watery area (not the poisonous ones of course, but in this way it's only about 1/3 now that I cannot use).

What about your trailer or is there a place you can put your stuff in?

No, but due to the whole pasture thing I had to buy a car, and that's quite handy, too. ;)

These days I got several small meadows next to our swamp, so that at the moment it looks as if we'd have grass all summer. The picture below is from one of them. Isn't it beautiful? That's what I have always wanted: a pasture with a little forest and stream in it. Sometimes losing your home isn't that bad after all. :)

Some impressions from our new home. I guess sometimes it's good to lose something you love, like our summer pastures - we got such a paradise in return. :)
