The Art of Natural Dressage

Hello there people!! It's been about 2 years since I last came here so I thought I'd best reintroduce myself and my ponies. (as there has been a bit of a change)

I'm Claire and I live in the UK. I currently have two ponies. Bo who is a 10 year old 13.3h welsh x hackney mare, She has owned me for the last 9 years.

I also have Whisper who is a 13.3hh welsh mare. Age unknown (thought I think she could only be around 5 years old) and official breeding unknown. I bought her from gypsies last year and she was seriously messed up. Physically she looked fine (unless you looked close enough to find the scars) but mentally she was a mess. She flinched and cowered away from my touch the first time I saw her...which sold her to me in one minute despite the fact I wasn't looking for another pony. She's spent the last year being a pony and learning to trust humans again. Now, on the ground she is really good and trusting compared to what she was like. (though you still can't pat her without her going into orbit) Our next step is to start ridden work but that will be a long drawn out process as she has a lot of barriers to get through created by previous owners.

Anyway...I'm sure I'll waffle lots more about both my girls. Bo is the bay one and Whisper is the black (faded black/ dark bay) one.

Hey Romy!! So Glad tha your still here

Whisper is so sweet and so willing to learn! Bo is still the same as always...I don't think she will ever change! lol

Now Tegan pony....funny story!

A few years ago (about two and a half) I found a lady who would come and start to ride tegan for me as I am waaaay to heavy for her. This lady loved Tegan and asked if she could buy her. At the time I was struggling to keep both ponies so I reluctantly agreed. The good thing is that this lady who ended up a good friend.....kept Tegan at the same yard we were already at so i could still see them progress together and by the time I moved yards I was happy that Tegan had a lovely new owner who was doing great things with her!! I did keep in contact and had regular visits which was great.

Last month my friend came to visit me in my new field and mentioned she was looking for somewhere new to keep tegan....just so happened the people who own the land I rent said yes to her coming to live with us. Soooo....After a good year and a half Tegan is back with us and part of our little herd again which is brilliant!! Okay so she doesn't belong to me but she hasn't forgotten anything I taught her which is fabulous!

I guess things turned out the way they were supposed to.

Lovely girls you got there! Tegan is also Welsh I suppose? What a nice conincidence that brought you all together once again.
We have a Welsh Cob mare, so I have a liking for the Welsh breeds. Tegan reminds me of her

Yes, Tegan is welsh too. She is welsh section C so a little smaller than Bo and Whisper...she has a big personality though which makes up for her short stature.

I do have a soft spot for Welsh ponies. They have the best characters

hey Claire, i am still here too although not very often anymore due to lots of work.
