Hi my name is Sueblue (Susan)
I live in the West Country, Somerset in England.
For many years I was a nurse, but also kept and bred horses.
My particular love is the Arabian and the Iberian horses.
My husband brought a beautiful Spanish Horse over from Spain, unfortunately we lost him at the age of 28 years last year but I still have his two sons Bilbaino 10 yr old stallion, and Azul (nicknamed Orphan because he lost his dam at 7 weeks old) who is six yrs old stallion.
I also still have my other old black stallion who is now 22yrs old, and his daughter who is 15 yrs.
As you can see like me they are all getting older!!
I also have a 7 year old Lusitano stallion in Portugal.
I have always been quite open minded, and always like to do what is best for my horses, so thought I would join this forum to find out some more.[img]

Yes me too, but I found them to be more sensitive than the purebred Andalusian, and I would say probably more difficult in many ways, but lots of presence!!

oh, yes, more difficult indeed...
But I guess 'being difficult' is a quality I look for in horses.
That may sound strange but I find them the best teachers and I do not have to worry to much that I force them in anyway way for the slightest thingy which they do not like and you'll know it right away :)

Anyway, that is how David de Wispelaere described Jamie and he is spot on ha ha !

I feel if you have a horse with presence they are always sensitive and can be difficult.

that ussually goes together yes :)

But when you have already teamed up with a horse like that and you know exactly which button to push and which not, meaning, he does not seem difficult at all anymore...

You sometimes forget the horse is to great a personality to be handled by 'strangers'.
And then you see others can not even do the simplest thing with the horse... then you remember how it once was ha ha !
