Hey all:
My cat Zelda landed wrong a couple of weeks ago and has subluxated her patella...in plain English, she got her kneecap out of whack and it apparently is slipping in and out of the groove.
I took her to the vet last week and he gave her an anti-inflammatory med that got her very sick --- scary sick -- after one dose, so I immediately took her off of it and worried for several days. (it can hit kidney function in cats, which it did for her -- felt awful about it!).
So, now I'm back to a limping cat.
I'm not sure how to get turmeric in her. Have read that fish oil is a very good anti-inflammatory, and she has loved sardines/oil when I've gotten them before. Am also trying (hah!) to keep her fairly quiet in the hopes that this can recover on its own.
Does anyone have any brilliant ideas about anything else we might try? She is a love and I hate seeing her hurting -- she is intermittently limping, with times where she can't put any weight on the leg at all.
Thanks!
Leigh
