About a month ago, I was supposed to take in a dog for 10 days. We were to be a foster home for the SPCA. However.... my boyfriend fell in love with Ziggy and we decided to adopt (even though I really didn't have the time).
René (my boyfriend) decided he would make me supper and the dishes while I take care of the dog. So I was happy about that!
He was 8 months old (now 9) and he is so energetic. Good thing we have a farm.
Anyways, so far, he's eaten my glasses, a few horse brushes, a horse sponge, and now he's nearly eaten my "sanity" ;)
René is now at the dog trainer's with Ziggy for obedience courses.

I will post pictures soon.

That is sooo funny!
We have a dog called "Jack" now 3 years old. His mother was a german pointer and his father a labrador.
I hate to tell you this but I don't want to know how much money this dog ate in the first 2 years!!! We lierally could not let him in the house as he would chew and eat anything he could get his hands on. He ate the contents of my handbag one day, cell phone, MP3 player, cheque book. Another day he pulled out a main irrigation pipe and we woke up to find the whole back yard flooded. Plants/grass/bushes...gone. He still occasionally punctures the pool pipes. He has now settled at 3 but I have never experienced such a chewy dog.
Whilst listening to what the "dog whisperer" (I just love him!!!) has to say about bird/hunting dogs is that they need to have something in their mouths.
Some help was filling empty plastic coke bottles half full with water, which kept him busy dragging them around and trying to demolish them.
Today he will still make a run for any bin in the house that contains tissues or plastic.......
Aside from the chewing he is the most awesome dog. He is very social with other dogs and fantastic with kids.

Hey Lisa: I sure hope he's happy, supposedly we don't have enough "control" over him. He basically does what he wants. But we're working on having a compromise with positive reinforcement and I must say "as with horses, it works!!!

Hey Annette, you have an adorable dog. Thanks for preparing me for the worst ;) No, I'm kidding, I'll just make sure my new glasses will not be anywhere near him and anything else. That reminds me, my satellite radio is on the counter, gotta move it now!!!

P.S. He is a darling though, my mother just LOOOOOVVVES him and she's not an animal freak like me.
