I don't know if this is the good place for a diary of my dog Spikkel.
But I feel the need to hold a diary, so I hoop to don't give up.

Spikkel is 5 year old, she has a hard life with me.
Some days I don't feel the energie to do something.
To go out of my bed, but I hope this diary will help me a bit.
Some days she has not much attention, but I hope too change for here.
She is still young and with much energy.
But also when i'm in my bad days she stay listening to me and try to do everything good. That give me back energie and good mood.
But I know it is also difficult for her, sometimes.

I try to be a leader for her.
But I find out when she is scared, I get it also.
Then I ask me how I can be a leader.
But if I feel scared, then we stop and wait to I feel better and I see that she trust me, and also feel better.

Further I start with teaching her, high school dressage or something like that.
She realy likes to jump and to do many other things for a piece of a apple.

I start her training, when I saw that she didn't walk entitled.
I wouldn't that she go the same way as my old dog Birie

Thanks for reading, I hope to post more about us.

We are doing well.

Spikkel listens much better since I start with clicker training and since she know my boyfriend :D
In the morning we do mostly clicker training and in the evening go we drive with the bike.
Some times I drive with her on the line and the other times run she free beside me.
She did realy need this, so she realy like it.

Yesterday we jumped, made small cirkels, gone sideways, come up with only the forhand to left and right and stayed beside the food...

I can walk free, with her on the street she stays beside or behind me, when my friend is with us she walk between us.
It feels so good to be with her having fun, training and doing nothing.
My friend made also a few movies, so I hope to posts here a movie of us.

Hi Bloem.
I am enjoying reading about your dog.
I think with dogs, once we have taught them the basic commands it is very easy to be lazy with the training. :funny:
It's nice to hear you are motivated. :D

This was real fun watching!

You are doing great and Spikkel is behaving so well !
You are both obviously having a good time playing like this!

I loved it, unfortunately after about 4 mins, the film stopped...
Could not make it go further...
I have had this problem before, I think it has to do with the low internet connection.
Even though I had buffered the full video before starting it.

But I enjoyed the part I could watch!

Thank you AMA.

It is a long time ago but Spikkel is doing realy well, she learn so fast
The things I teach her, can I now also use when I give the animals food and at other moments.
She can open the port, so that the goats can go back in the meadow, if they finish eating.

The way I now can comunicate with her feels so good

She also trust more and more my friend.
Now, he can alone walk free with her.
And if she sees him, she runs realy happy to him

And she do the switch it very well between my legs  :applause:

Lovely video, I don't have many suggestions, I must admit... I only wish I had a dog, but don't own one.
He (she?) seems very enthusiastic. when you let her jump to the left and right towards your hand, there are those moments that she knows that she has to jump to your right, but that you have the food in your left and you see the inner discussion... hmm, left food, right the task for which I get the food.... hmm what to do?

But all this time i think she is very polite, with getting the food, with staying away from the bowl with food

great :D

(oh and the video played the entire length with me, AMA, so it's not the video :) )

I know Kirsten, it is just this very slow internet connection we have here in the Italian Appenine mountains...
You can't win them all, can you...

It is undoubtfully clear why the name is Spikkel... for Flemish/Dutch people

SHE realy knows that she only get the food with my permition. 8)
If she find something I tell her to give it to me, so I can see what it is.
If it isn't somting bad I give it back to her otherwise I don't give it back.

When we go away from home for a few days.
The other people take care of Spikkel and the other animals.
They told me that she did run away, what she normaly never do by me...

When we go walk with her, I feel that she has no attantion for me.
So, we don't let her free on the road.
But in the meadow, where she normal stay with us, she run away.
She didn't listen at all ....
When we came back home, we just left her...
But when we were on our way back home we heard her...
She didn't know how to go out of the meadow and yet she know how to escap from us

She can jump but she was just there crying for us behind the gate.
That was the last time she ren away.
Now she is back the old one.

Now when we are doing something, she just wait and look to us until we finish.

Since a week I started training her more specific in walk WITH me.
Afther two days, was there no more a probleme at the line and afther 4 days she walk free behind that I had to look were she was.
But I feel good and sure, I think that I have to thank much at my boyfriend
He is sure of is own (as he knows what he is doing), he is so in his body, you will always feel save by him, he is realy here and now.
I have to learn so much of him  , sometimes I wich I was a african, but that is maybe way he is in my live and way I feel so safe by his african friends...

Realy easy excample: Spikkel didn't listen in the begining well to him, I was than feling so bad for him.
About I want he tell her doing this and than she didn't listen.

His reply, "it is how she is, sometimes she listen well and other times not."

Even if she knows that he is there and coming to walk with us, she wants to wait for him...
He must walk in front not behind of her.

Since Biry died, life Zirieboe with Spikkel.
Zirieboe and Biry are brother and sister, they have been together all their lives.
But Biry couldn't by Spikkel, about her hernia.
But now lives Zirieboe and Spikkel together.
In the begin was Spikkel all the time looking to Zirieboe...
Why is he there and you want me to stay with you....
Why this ...
Why that...
So in the begin I didn't ask much of her.
But afther one week she didn't look anymore to him, she walk with me out of her own
Better than befor
Now Zirieboe is looking to her...
He follow her....
If she does wrong he does it too...
but if she does good he does it too...
For doing good, he think much "should I?"but it goes better by the day...

I teach Spikkel something new.
I think that it took one week...
I whant to teach her to open the wood gate from the meadow.

So I can send her to open it and let the goats back in...
I had to teach her first to jump at the gate and not over...
There was a goat who jump over the gate, so now is there electricity. :applause:

I told her (only with gestures, not with words) to jump down at the gate and when it goes open she was always realy happy, maybe also about that I was so happy... :applause:

I then I started useing the word 'open'.
Today i send her befor me out and told her to open.
She was a bit unsure but when she did it, she was so happy...

Then, I told her to stay in the meadow, I go to take branches.
When I came back I told her one time to open....
It is realy handy for me, I don't has to stop pout all down open the gate go back and take it up...
And than all the goats standing in the branches what made it not more easy to take them in the meadow...
Now I could just keep on walking and I was the goats before...

I can even tell her with a gesture of my arm to go on the block some meters of us...

She learn so fast...
