I found him about one week ago, but he must have hidden somewhere in my bedroom for the last months.

I also wanted to do some training with him, but I haven´t found any food he is interested in yet... and he is asleep most of the time. Hope he will survive until spring so that I can set him free then. For now he prefers to stay inside even when I open the window and put him on the windowsill - seems to be too cold outside, he slowly comes in again, sits down somewhere and goes back to sleep.

I have one too, just the same!
It is hiding in our garage. I was scared it would not survive till spring, but it is still alive.

Keep our fingers crossed for both of them!

I used to feed butterflies as a child. Just put a very shallow dish of sugar water near them and they feed from that. 1 part sugar to 2 parts water. I have heard of feeding them melon slices too. Good luck! He/she is very pretty! :green:

Wow! That is so cool! I hope he makes it. It is too bad that butterflies are so short lived. It might be so cool to train one!

You can try the local pet store, they may have humming bird mix, which is a powder you mix with water or a liquid. Good luck with him/her! It's beautiful :f:

Thank you all very much for your replies and suggestions. I have tried giving him juice, but he was not interested. I am not sure if they eat at all during the winter when they are supposed to sleep. For now he has disappeared, I saw him flying to one part of my bedroom, but when I went looking for him there, I could not find him. Probably he is sitting behind a cupboard or something.

Next time he shows up I will make a video! :)

That is to awesome for words!

You know, butterflies come to your life to tell you, you have to start going with things you have been putting off for to long... or so they say :)
