While I was visiting AnneMarie and others over the last five days, we were thinking about organizing an AND tour one day. We would drive through Belgium, Holland and maybe even further with everyone interested and visit some of our members and their horses.

Of course such a project needs a lot of preparation, but maybe this is an idea for 2010 or 2011?

Anyone interested in joining in? :)

Here is a list of people who want to take part, please reply to this topic and I will add your name to the travellers, the locations or both.

People interested in travelling with us:
Romy (also available for welcoming people at my place, but probably that´s too far away from everyone else)
AnneMarie
Orange
Kirsten
Els
Barbara
Ania

People who would like to be visited:
AnneMarie (Meerbeek, Belgium)
Helene (Barcelona, Spain)
Barbara (Tielt-Winge, Belgium)

Oh yes, yes, yes !
But I don't suppose you were thinking of coming as far as the UK  ?

Sounds like great fun! I'd love to travel along, but there's no real proper way of being visited

Depends on the participants. ;) If there are many people over there who are interested (and some of them have a car to take others along), then why not come to the UK? Or drive through Belgium and Holland in one year, the UK in another year and so on... Maybe there are even people from America who want to do this, so they could also plan something similar over there.

I´d say in this topic we are just collecting general info about possible participants or other organisational things and later on we can become more specific, okay?

Thank you Romy for posting this.
It is a good idea to actually not leave it till we forget about it...

The organization part I will try to do for a big part. Of course anyone who would like to help is very welcome!
Lodging may be either at peoples places (each of us with mattress and sleeping bag) or maybe even in tents or so?
Knowing that we all need the money to keep our horses well, we will try to keep the costs to a minimum, but maybe just start to save up some if you can anyway ;)

Doing different countries in one trip (especially if there is a canal, sea or ocean in between...) will probably not be easy, but as Romy said we can do it over a couple of years?
For some people far away, if the budget allows, it may become the once-in-a-lifetime trip over...

Thank you, my super-organizer. You are hired as the organizer anyway, but maybe Jan wants to be our professional photographer? I guess he would not mind doing a UK trip, would he? ;)

Hugs to both of you!

I will NOT let him see this topic yet or he will start packing immediately :funny:

But we will have a problem then with some fluffy animals that cannot enter the UK without a long quarantaine...
I guess I should start working on that problem in time too.
Maybe write to the Queen, asking her if royal-looking dogs could get an exception to the rule :funny:

This sounds like such a great thing to do!

I can't look in the future so far, as I might be out of the country or busy with a study at that time, but if there is any chance I can come I would really like to travel (maybe for a part) with you! So... please keep us informed.

Does anyone know what the rules are concerning immigrating into Great Britain and wanting to take your horses? Same as dogs or what?
