I am down with a nasty cold. Nothing severe. But raw throat, stuffy head, mild cough, that icy feeling in the chest. You know the feeling.

So today I shall be whiney, and complain a lot, and feel very sorry for myself, and thus seek the company of horses often to cheer me up. And of course too the company of my horse friends.

Hi horse friends, don't touch your monitor. I might be contagious. You all stay well, yah hear?

<sniffle, snort, cough>

Get better soon! :pet:

But after this cold you will be extra strong and fresh, and until then, just enjoy the opportunity of taking a break from being busy. Instead, you will have lots of time for yourself and the girls and Rio and the internet. :) :f:

Hope your feeling better soon Donald.

I'm a big fan of Echinacea and have a supply of tea bags containing this. It tastes lovely, very similar to plain old green tea but echinacea is very good at boosting the immune system> You can get the tea bags as well as other forms from Holland & Barrett :)

Tx

Thank you, Tiaki. I have some and need to get on it. This cold is right now getting worse as the day wears on.

I'm bored, and cranky, and trying to think when I need to meditate instead.

Now let me see, where did my wife put those bottles of pear wine she made? LOL

I just read that you don't feel too good. My motto is:
at least if you're sick now, you won't be sick later!! So take care of yourself because once this virus is gone, it won't ever come back :applause: :applause:
P.S. a little red wine might help!!!

Take Care Donald, we all need you (especially those close to you :pet: )

I myself love a nice hot toddy when I have a cold. I take a long, hot bath, dress really warm, drink a nice concoction of black tea with rum, cinnamon, nutmeg and ground cloves and some honey, then I toss on an extra blanket and drink the hot tea quickly while it's as hot as I can stand to drink it (don't burn your tongue).

Then I sweat as long as I can stand it (which for me isn't long, but if you have a strong will then sweat longer). It's great for breaking the cough.

Don, I hope you are feeling better? :pet:

Awww....what a sweet bunch of AND friends you are. I was especially taken at the suggestion of the wine and the hot toddy cures.

The Hot Toddy I have only partially tried, hot shower, wrap up, go to bed, and I sweated a little, but I'm tempted to try something a bit more along the lines of what you suggest, Karen. I think it's likely the medicinal qualities of Rum that matter most. Or at least it will help me no longer care if I'm sick. LOL

I may be doing a little better this evening. More chest involved and froggy in the throat, but that's probably the signs of the end of the virus coming on. It's not the virus that makes all the yukkie stuff that backs up, but in fact the dead material being kicked out of the cells. My immune system is working overtime.

Thanks again, and a very sanitary long distance hug to you all. Now, sanitize your monitors.
