Location: the Minnesota prairie, USA
horses, with
power from
the morning moon
stretch
body leaning
in to wind
slide pivot
muscles are
the key to
a supple kingdom-

head up ears
strain listening
snort filter air
understand -

wheel on hindlegs
gallop
no need to see-
hooves know
the earth -

ease down
trot to metronome
the wind can swallow
the awkward scent
of humanity.
