Hi Karen,
I am completely in awe!! This is one of the best videos I've seen in quite awhile. It's amazing the relationship you have with Tamarack. He adores you!!! I hope you don't mind, I've added this video to my Facebook profile to keep it as a reference. I will watch it over and over. :applause: :applause: :applause:

Thank you Josepha!!!!

I have just uploaded another small video showing transitions on the lunge. Again...nothing spectacular (other than I am very happy with the way he carries himself in trot).

Whaaaaa, that is sooooo fantastic!!! :) :cheer: :) :cheer: :) :cheer: :)

It´s lovely that he sits down in the end, but the leanning back... :ieks: :) Oh, I so want to do this with Summy and the others as well - I will have to get us a cordeo and something that we can use instead of the hay bales (we only have big round bales). Thank you soo much for posting this, it´s totally amazing and so great to watch your careful systematic work and his conscious and careful reactions.

I think I´ll stick to what I told you that I wanted for my next life. :funny:

Thank you Romy! Isn't my friend Helen hilarious? She thought I was being much too calm, so she had to cheer (for Tam's sake) when he finally sat.

Allen Pogue uses a large beanbag chair for his horses to learn to sit. Here's a photo partway down the page:

http://www.imagineahorse.com/PhotoGalle ... aining.htm

You can see that the hind legs of the horse are both quite relaxed...I might see if I can come up with a kind of large bean bag. We could fill it with shavings...I worry a bit about Tam leaning back against the straw bales...so a softer spot to work back toward might be better.

Excellent Karen!!! (And indeed you forgot to go mental on this!)

At first he looks like ‘what does she want from me… gosh’ ha ha ha !
But then you see him acting like, ‘whatever, let’s just see where she is going with this…’

You know what strikes me is the moment he tilts his pelvis, you see him flexing at the poll, wonderful wonderful and such proof for your audience at classical forum…ha!

And the way his head and neck is moving to search his balance before he sits down… aaah!
You should send it to Dr. Heuschman (no there is a real doctor in his field…) so he can prove his point some more.

Looooove it!!!

I put up a new video today. It's not much, but it is an odd little milestone in Tam's development. We have this very small pedestal. My friend Helen's little mare Lacey could put four feet on it almost immediately, but for Tam, it has taken months, and months and months. In fact after getting stuck at three feet on the pedestal but completely unable to put the fourth foot on, I stopped playing with it...and for the last several months we didn't try it at all. Then last week I decided to try it again. He did it so easily that I was amazed.
