Very nice video! Maybe you can tell us more about it? What's your intention with the pole? How do you use it exactly? Is it more of help for the human, or does the horse use it as orientation? |

First I put it to fix a video camera in the center . But than I discovered that it can be very useful, for human and horse. I realized, that I often drifted away from the plays I was working, pushed slowly by the horse or loosing orientation when turning in a circle. So the pole is a good point of orientation for both. It helps the horse to bend, the pole is in the middle and you just walk around calling the attention with one hand and make him move forward using the other. Degas does not like so much to bend and the pole has helped a lot. If your horse tends to turn towards you while exercises such as terre a terre, courbette, help them to stay in place. There are many possibilities to use it. |

I see. It's so useful to have a point of orientation for working on a circle. I tend to get lost and drift off . What I love are those "soft cavaletti". Here they are called "Dualgassen". You can see them in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EY7eJZvIW4g They help a lot when used as inner boundary to work on bending or when teaching the horse to stay out on the circle. They are very versatile... |

Post subject: | little donkey Carolina is chasing Degas |
Usually it is Carolina that is chased by Degas, but two days ago she inverted the roles. This morning she moved iƬhim in a circle. A pity I hadn't the video camera. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GGgbItMqXo&feature |

She can be very provocative, but the other day she can be a really sweet heart and very peaceful. Anyhow, it is interesting to see how she sends the first signals and than gets closer to Degas. He is really pacient with her, the expression of his face is almost friendly al the time. Here is a little video that shows the other side http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LALd8KoNCyA&feature |

What a nice video! I have always wanted to have horses in and around the house as well, but as I live in the second floor, that's a bit impossible. But it's great to see Degas and Carolina in the garden, they look like a fantastic addition to the family. |

Another wonderful video! You're really lucky to have your equines around you. We have to drive 45 minutes to get to them . Some might think Carolina's behaviour as being aggressive, but Degas' reactions and her provocative way clearly says she wants to play. Lovely. |
