Yes, isn't it great how in play everything comes so natural? When Mucki does not consciously think about it than the canter comes out all right ;).

I edited another video we took during our holidays. It's a playing session of Anna and Lily, where they were just horsing around and Anna was experimenting with mimicry. In the end Lily did a very lovely rear from just a little hop of Anna ;)

Just a short video of Mucki and me in his paddock, changing his bandage. He is so happy about every little bit of attention - it is heartbreaking :(
Still, I enjoy these unspectacular moments with him very much...

More videos! :bounce:

Four rings & a cone
Mucki is stacking rubber rings on a cone.

Colour discrimination & match to sample
I have played around with colour discrimination before, but yesterday I started another approach. It's basically 'match to sample' with colours. Today was the second time I did this with Mucki and it looks already pretty promising...

So lovely!   You can train this with Bacardy as well when you are here next time (given that he likes and understands this kind of work, which I do not know, yet). :)

Amazing! He really knows what you are asking and keeps putting the ring on those discs so precisely!
You give me -once more- inspiration Volker and Mucki :sun:

Thank you all! so nice to see that you like our videos :)
But we have more to show you:

Lily's mimicry zoo
We did a little experiment with Lily when we had some friends over for a clicker meeting. Everyone drew a card with a name of an animal on it. Then that animal had to be performed together with Lily.
The goal was not so much to shape Lily's movement via the clicker, but to let oneself be clicker trained by Lily and to adapt ones body language accord to Lily's feedback.
It's in German, but most animals are pretty easy to guess in English - it's: stork, gazelle, snake, frog, flea, bear, eagle, elephant and panther.

Great video, Volker. It really looks like much fun.
Lily is so good in mimicry, I liked the little jumps and the very slow walk most. Really nice game!
It`s great how Lily is working with all the people, she is so concentrated. Did she know the people before?

Thanks Marlene! Yes, Lily is a natural talent with mimicry. And of course we have reinforced it a lot in our horses as well. We have to try this game with Mucki one day and see how he reacts to it - will be interesting ;)

Lily did not really know all those people, she only has seen some of them once before, but no real training experience with any of them.
She was very good though at tuning in to the different ways of moving, different cues and different styles of rewarding. But she got quite tired in the end and needed her time off afterwards, so I guess it was really exhausting :)

Hindquarter Workout
Today it was Mucki's idea to do some hindquarter training. He offered mostly School Halts and rears. So I let him, trying to concentrate on his weaker right hindleg, but mostly going with what he offered.
Camera was not always perfectly positioned, but you can see the important things ;)
