Sabine Birmann just sent me an e-mail announcing a video by one of her pupils:

Quote:
Mit Pferden sein... Kraft, Energie und Hingabe
http://de.youtube.com/watch?v=JZVQLOb8TLE

I'd like to hear what you think of this. They don't show how they do it, they want to arouse emotions, if I understand correctly. The accompanying text is in French, Claire stems from Luxemburg:

Quote:
Les chevaux représentent de l'énergie, de la force et peuvent se dévouer à l'Homme... Ce video montre les moments qu'un cheval et un Homme peuvent vivre ensemble et développer une forte relation en toute harmonie...

My translation: Horses represent energy and power and can devote themselves to man... This video shows moments where a horse and a human can live together and develop a strong relation in total harmony...

You can see Sabine and her husband Dan as well in this video.

LOVELY! And there are many more videos there as well.

I have been riding my young horse at times with both the light cavesson and the cordeo, with the cavesson reins completely slack. This is a very lovely example of that, as well as showing how well a human and a horse can dance together.

Very nice!

WOW!! It is really nice to see these changes happening in the horse world, kinder, gentler, more healthy ways to 'have' horses!!!

And it is nice to be a part of that movement with my own animals!! There was a similar 'revolution' about 15 years ago, when positive reinforcement/clicker/games, etc. really came into fashion in the dog training world. It really changed the way I looked at EVERYTHING I did with my dogs!! There is still a long way to go in the qorld, for both horses and dogs, but forums like this one, and videos like that can only further the cause, eh?

Thanks for sharing!

Brenda
