Here is another nice little video with the same stallion...this one shows some really god body language mirroring too. I especially like when she jumps up and down.

Nice! I just wanted to start a topic about her, because I have found her website when I was looking for videos about long reining, and only she wasn't using any gadgets, except bit ;) and she's using clicker training, and it looks very classical too :) and like AND also 8) and she's not far away from my place, so I thought about visiting her to learn something!

i know a man who go often to her they to things together and learn form eachother. A dutch man
called Piet Bakker. He does give lessons in using longreins. I have followed some lessons from him.
Just watching, when he was nearby i was on holiday so bad luck, maybe next time i can go with my own horse.
He is great and very friendely enjoy to teach you and horse. He does it with his whole body, he jumps and walks through the arena to help you and explain.
So great to see.
He does it do with a bridle, but he prefer (if the owner wants it) bitless.
But you have to follow the big growed if you wanna be a teacher and explain what you are doing. So on his movies you will see him work with a bit. But he will do it also without.

So he prefent with this, that he will put in a specail corner named NH or something.
That is what most people do.

Oh, these are great!

Love, love, love the chair game.

Gonna play that with Circe -- we did an unsophisticated at a walk version of this a while back, but I LOVE adding the chase energy to it. Brilliant.

Was just talking about needing to figure out how to get out of serious head work mode when getting on her -- think that this is a great first step.

(And her video of her free longeing is fab as well. I don't know anything about her -- need to go track her down, I think!)

Thanks, Karen!

:-)

She was pretty much into NH a few years ago - now she is more and more into positive training.. ;)

She is Norwegian, and has even been working as a ridinginstructor in "my" stable (my sister rode for her, not me, I had left riding-school years ago by then).

I like her and not like her. I have seen so much NH from her, and she still has some with her (and I really hate NH  ). But I have to say, she is more and more positive, more and more clicker and more and more games... So I guess I have to go some rounds with myself and realize she has moved on - towards what I like the better of the things in the horse-world.. ;)

I am on her norwegian forum, so I have read a lot of her answers of things - and I do like them mostly. She is still a bit too much for pressure for my taste - but I suppose that is a bit because our different backgrounds as well - she NH (wich IS pressure) and I more traditional - where you do use pressure of course, but not as systematical and methodical as NH....

So when I have my horses to follow me from their own free will (and treats) she have them to follow out of pressure (and treats) (her words, she tells she puts pressure on their hind with her eyes and walk in bown to make them follow).

But out of all NH-people in this world I have to say that she is probably the softest, gentlest of them all..... (and she now in more into communication she tells, not that much NH - if I have understood it right).
