What do you hoof guys think of KC La Pierre? He is having a clinic near me this fall, I'm considering going. I wish I knew more about him though. Anybody ever studied with him?

Hi Faith,

I would go if you get the chance. My trimmer is trained by K.C. and I have been very impressed. Just make sure the person you are useing is listed as'active' or 'current'. They insist that their trimmers get ongoing education and stay up to date. My mare is doing great and her feet have never looked better.

Faith my trimmer is KC La Pierre trained too, and my horse too have fantastic feet, never a problem. I'm going on a weekend triming and understanding foot anatomy course in April, I can't wait as I lack so much knowledge in this department.

I went to one of his clinics a while back and hvae been doing my own horse's feet sicne with great results. Once you learn what a good hook should look like (in detail) and know that the stimulous for growth is pressure, you can usually figure out how to deal with whatever issues your horse is having- within reason of course!!!

Just watch out for wall rasping!

That is what got my mare into oh so much trouble! Myself, I would stick with Pete Ramey all the way!

If you go though I shall be very interested to hear bout what you learn?!??!

xx
