Today I did hear the sad news that Mira her pelvis is sagged and locked.
This made her diaphragm locked and that made that she has to use her bally to breath. The half of her lungs doesn't work anymore.
So the vet told that she don't has to do anymore any intensife work.
Never something on her back...

Now i'm asking me, are here people who has any experience whit this (all do I hope not).
Or is there maybe a way to try to train the muscles from her pelvis...

If you were to take some video of her movement, you could then ask someone like Jean Luc Cornille to assess it and offer some suggestions for in-hand work (slow work) that might keep her comfortable in her daily life?

I very interesting "pilates" move can be seen in this video. Through shaping and free choice (so the horse/mule/donkey can decide a limit for themselves) the horse is asked to back up to a wall. As they press the haunches against the wall, the pelvis tips back and the back rises. Tam does this very well now (will raise his back and just hold it there). I'm not sure of the over-all effect it can have on the horse, so it might be good to ask the vet if it is ok IF the horse/mule/donkey does it.

I'm sorry for the late reaction...

@ josepha, she can step backward but not all the time...
@ Karen, I will look to it, thank you...

I wasn't there when the vet was here, the pelvis is worn.
She did tell my sister some excercies she can do with her but me I don't know anything and even don't know if my sister does it...
But it can help to make it more confortabel for her...

The problem is that the donkeys are in a meadow not close by my parents and I have to take care of my baby and have no car or license and with Roos on the bike is not jet a good idea...

Realy long time ago...
I did ask my sister more about what the vet told ...
She (de vet) told, to bring de legs a bit more close to eachother than in normal stand.
Then you take one front leg up and you push her a bit backword (she has to bring her body weight on the hind)
The other person has to hold the head down (for the back muscles, i think so).

Last week I did talk with the vet. She told me that, if it will come good she only can pull a cart...
not be driven etc... (that was not realy my plan if you know that she is 90 cm high..)
But I'm realy happy  I was already looking to sale the gareel (or how you calls it in english) of Mira ...

Josepha told me to do the shaukel and the stretch.

The shaukel does she al a bit, she goes a few times backword than she stops I think it is still difficult and heavy...
For the stretch and de exersice of the vet do we need more time to teach it her in freedom.
I think than the result will be so much better.
